Greetings to All!!!
I have just moved from the Middle East with my wife & child. My son is going to be 2 in June. In Kuwait, we have given him vaccinations after birth, 6 months, 1 year… etc. His next vaccination is due in June when he shall be 2 years. (Last he was given when he was 18 months).
In Canada, I understand that after 18 months, there is vaccination directly after 4 years of age. I am quite worried about missing any shots. Please advice, and if any of the CD members has faced similar situation, please let me know what is to be done.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Samak don't worry about vaccination. Just take your child's vaccination record to any community walk in clinic, and register there. You can find it nearest to your zip code through http://www.211toronto.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK, for child service it is excellent, they will give you an appointment with child specialist and they will decide what shots are needed to be taken. And follow the chart given to you. Service is free.
My case was similar to you, I produced all the records to them and since then and onwards my son belongs to them and to my wife regarding all the medical care

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. You know our records are in Arabic. How do i explain what kind of shots he has taken already. Do i have to translate the report where the history of shots was given.
Best Regards,
Samak
You must translate your Arabic record to English, you may ask your doctor in ME to give you a english version. It is surprising because in Dubai I got all in english version only in chart form.

Just a suggestion - Keep all records of the childs vaccination handy. It will be needed when your child starts schooling. This is a mandatory requirement by the Public Health Dept, Toronto. Your child could be suspended from school if their vaccination is not up to date.
My 2 cents - Everytime your child gets a vaccination, get a copy from the Doctor. In Toronto, ask the doctor for a yellow card (it's free), and get that updated on each vaccination. My childs doctor stopped practice one fine day and sent all the records to a Storage company. Now the're charging me $50 for a copy of the file.
