Hi all,
I'm Surej, from Bangalore, India, intending to move to Canada. I've a friend who also intends to move to Canada, and wants to go ahead processing his papers asap.
However, lately he's been a renal patient with a medical condition called 'IgA Nephropathy', with:
Serum Creatine level = 5.2
Urine Protien level = 400mg
If case his condition worsens, he may've to undergo dialysis or kidney transplant.
My questions on his behalf are:
1. If his worsens during landing in Canada, what're the available options for him to undergo treatment (dialysis / kidney transplant)?
2. In this condition, what're his prospects for availing medical insurance or assistance from hospitals?
3. Is such kind of tratment expensive in Canada?
4. What level of quality of tratment can he and his family expect?
If possible, pl. reply with detailed answers.
I'd really appreciate replies from practising doctors and from people with similar ailment.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Surej
Clarification needed.
What does "wants to go ahead processing his papers asap" mean ? Does it mean applying for immigration?
Medical examination is done in India before embassy issues a visa to Canada.
If embassy officials feel somebody would be a burden on economy of Canada in terms of healthcare, they do not usually allow them.
