Dear Sir,
I have a brother who is a professional Town Planner and runs his own sucessful business in Malaysia. He is interested in obtaining the PR for himself and his family but plans on landing and staying in Canada with me for about 2 weeks to a month and than intends to return to Malaysia to continue his business.
He has an intention to round up his business in 5 years time but by then he would have passed 49. Please advise if there is a definate time period to stay in Canada when one first arrive as landed immigrants.
Thank you.
yes, atleast 6 months in a year, and atleast 2 in 5 years in canada.
the answer should be 2 out of first five years only, i don't think the 6 month condition is valid. Not anymore ie.

landed rearriving soon
The answer is 2 yrs out of first five years .The 6 month condition is not valid anymore
There is no minimum when you land. You can return in a few days. The '2-out-of-5-years' rule is for maintaining your PR in Canada.
So, if your brother returns to Malaysia in a few weeks, he can stay outside Canada for at least three years.
