Hi,
I had despatched my DD towards the payment of RPRF fees to CHC-Nairobi, from Mumbai on 17th May,04, I' ve not received any receipt from them as yet, It has been despatched by Speed post (Govt of india courier services).
On inquiring with the issuing bank, I am told it has been debited from the bank's account on 12 th of july,04, is it possible? why does it take so long ? what could delay the encashment of the DD?
I am getting worried, on the safe receipt of DD at the right place, can you share some info on such events

Peacock I dont wanna scare you BUt let me relate to an incident ( a long time ago though)

This was in 1998, when I was applying for my students visa. I sent all the documents by Speed-post including a DD worth Rs 8750. This was a wrong amount. I should have sent only Rs 3750. I dispatched it via Speed-post (as you say, Govt of India courier). 1 week passed and I did not get any reply.
I called them up (incidently I never had to go to Delhi and I got my Visa from the Mumbai conulate itself ) and the lady told me that no DD was recvd with my package !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily, that DD could not be encashed as it was made payabe to the Canadian High Commission ! So any Postal employee who may have "taken it" was in for a rude shock . After I reached Canada did I find out that the DD was eventually recvd by the HIgh Commission. Of cos by then I was in Canada. My friend (and a junior from IISc) followed it up from there.
BUt that was an incident worth recalling.
If your DD has been debited then have no fear ! Just re-confirm it with them again !

Thanks for your prompt reply, however CHC are not replying to any e-mails, nor does the E client status shows any thing regards medical or receipt of RPRF fees, how to ensure of this payment having reached right place.

No need to worry, I guess.

I had sent my RPRF DD to New Delhi & even then I got receipt after 2 months. Within a week of getting receipt I got my visa too.

Somebody on this forum told me that sometimes people get receipts alongwith visa.

just wanted to know why you sent RPRF to CHC-nairobi? Don't African countries have a huge backlog? Also ur location is Mumbai so why not CHC-delhi?

My case is filed from Nairobi, and hence it has to be sent to Nairobi.
I t was done so to make it faster, it actually worked the other way.
