Hello,
I had some questions about Canadian Visa.
1) If on my copr is written conditions 00 what does this mean?
2) After landing how long I have to live in Canada?
3) Can I live out of canada for the first 3 years and than 2 years in canada to keep my pr visa?
4) Is pr card the only proof of permanent residence or a person after landing also get a permanent stamp in passport?
5) If I come back after landing can my freind get my pr cards and than post it to me here?
6) Can it be a problem if the officer at entry port come to know that i will be going back after landing. Or he has nothing to say?If it will be a problem can I buy only one side air ticket and again one in canada to come back?
Please give me a reply so that I know what to do.
Regards from me to all the members in this helpfull link.
Hi
Q 1. I did not understnad what u r asking for?
Q2. There is no time frame and u can leave canada in the same flight also.
Q3. Yes, U r right and u can live out of canada for 3 years and stay for 2 uears to renew your PR.
Q4. PR card is the only proof. There is no stamp in passport.
Q5. Yes, Your friend can get the PR card and post it to you. Better by courier so that you will not miss it
Q6. It is not a problem. U can have a return air ticket. Infact, when I landed first time, I have asked the immigration officer to give me an advise for collecting the PR cards through my friend.

Yes, you are free to leave on the next flight and theoritically, stay outside Canada for 3 years.
However, You might have a tough time re-entering. I was outside Canada for about a year, and had a hard time convincing the officials (when I got back), that I had ties within Canada (I had a Canadian Bank account, drivers license etc). She finally let me in.
Most people (including immigraton lawyers) however argue that the only criteria is the 2 in 5, and my understanding is that if there is reasonable doubt that your intention was to abandon Canada as a country of residence, you will not be able to maintain your PR. (according to the lawyers, the new act has completely done away with the subjectivity of the 'intention to abandon' criteria and replaced with the objective 2/5 rule.
Incidentally, now, the monitoring of days is easy (for the immigration officials), as your entry / exit gets captured when you swipe your PR card upon entry / exit.
A very good resource about Canadian immigration is in Google groups - misc.immigration.canada and type keyword 2/5 rule
Hope I haven't confused you too much.
