I have a US H1 Visa. This was a transfer of status from H4 to H1.
I am a Indian citizen and have not travelled to India for physical visa stamping.
I have very close family ties in Canada and hence I am planning to apply for a Canadian PR card. My husband has a house in Canada and pays taxes in Canada.
My question is if I get a Canadian permanent resident card and visit Canada for landing then can I get the US H1 visa stamped in American embassy in Canada or do i need to go to India for it (inspite of being a Canadian Perm Resident)

Are you already a PR? If so, yes, you can apply through the US consulate in Canada.

No I dont have a PR card right now..
That is the question ...you sort of answered..
when i land and have the new PR card I guess I go to US Consulate for stamping and return back to USA.
After getting a Canadian PR you can go to the US Consulate and get your H1 visa stamped

H1B resident in the US without Cdn PR status could apply through the US consulate in Canada. It has worked successfully in the past and as long as the application is straightforward will tend to work out ok.
However, if you land, become a PR, get a PR card, sure you can go the consulate in Canada.
