Just an extension of the thread.

Recently I had been to India for a couple of days.

How would I establish my period of stay outside Canada at the time of applying for Citizenship?

Will the Canadian Authorities refer to the entry and exit stamping of India in this case?

Your reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
AAA

It is not entry and exit stamp of India but the total number of days you were outside Canada that you have to deduct. Some countries may not stamp at all but you will have to still mention your absences from Canada in your citizenship application.

--------------------------------
When calculating an absence, either the day you leave Canada or the day you return is considered an absence, but not both. For example, an absence between July 1, 2003 and July 15, 2003 equals 14 days of absence.

Hi Raj,

Thank you for your earnest reply.

Please note that by entry and exit stamping in India, I meant the no. of days in between.

In other words as Canada do not have the practice of exit stamping, is there a rule to declare period of absence by showing the entry and exit stamping dates by Indian Authorities.

I just want to make sure that at the time of Citizenship application, will they take my statement pertaining to the number of days of absence, to be granted?

Thanks,
AAA

As long as you mention your absence correctly, there should be no issues. They may or may not check your passport when you write the test.

(You can also expect RCMP officers with Taser Guns, (just a reminder of the Polish guy - Dzekinksy, who was tasered at Vancouver airport, & died on the spot).
Make sure you express you anger (if any) in a very polite way.
Have a safe journey)

Hi! ashedfc,

wow..... well what can i say, wish you luck and peace on your next interaction with the Canadian Police force.
