that is absolute nonsense...
Maybe you can enlighten the forum with some of your own negative experiences, instead of a one liner.....
That may help understand the other perspective.

I usually do not write at length. But what I meant is that for the most part, the officers are way too tough with most people. By default, one should expect a rigorous screening, although some do get lucky. No other enlightenment needed.

I would certainly agree with that.
Tough and Rigorous, however, do not translate in them being unprofessional unless the person escalates the situation forcing the officers to take up additional measures which, in turn, would be perceived as intimidating.
With the exception of Nexus card holders (US-Canada crossing), everyone can expect rigorous checks (I don't think there are any lucky winners here).
Dimple Ji,
I assume you have a Nexus card and hence a 'known face' to the CBP. From travelling daily, you have gained the self-confidence and the knack needed to
deal with the CBP.
But, the millions of visitors who travel to USA from different parts of the world do not have your kind of exposure. You have individuals with less command of english, partial hearing seniors etc. E.g. My grandparents would have no clue on how to deal with the CBP.
I have personally seen 70 year old ladies grilled to the bone at the passport check counter. what threat do they pose to the security of USA?
My 2 cents.
