However, I am very surprised about one thing. I usually shop at Walmart, Zellers, No Frills etc. but have never EVER come across a single person like the one described by so many persons here. Am I a "non-touchable"?

And how come a company like Primerica is placed in the same category. I think it is a Citibank subsidiary and they would not do such a thing?!!

Hi ! Chandresh,

your posts are sensible and talk in depth of your understanding of the social and business environment in N America.

Umm rarely have i seen the use of word "non-touchable" instead of "un -touchable"

and ideally you could sum up by using words like "FOB" = fresh off boat, you know teens in your house or around can explain you more of it.

Good you mentioned the list of the stores, no way to avoid but will try to minimize my shopping there...and yeah you did not come across a single person from Amway, probably because you spend more time in return line than at the cash register???
These guys prey on people who spend frugally even at Wal mart..you are too smart for them.....

Two reasons:

1. the "un" was sooooooo Indian - so avoided that.
2. the fact that others whom these Amway businessmen want to talk to would be someone they want should not slip away from their hands, and so should be 'non-slip' (and would not be 'un-slip' and I would avoid 'anti'). So I become 'non-touchable':D

Hope you got my point.

soliciting is prohibited at all the above businesses. Instead of avoiding shopping there, you can complain to the store manager about the person harrasing you and the rest will be taken care by the store manager
:D

Apparently Amway folks are not the only ones who solicit near walmart

Actually the reason I was planning on avoiding those shops is that you most likely end up buying stuff returned by folks like Chandresh
