Is anyone aware of any banks here in Canada providing vaults or lockers where you store your valuables ? I searched this site and the WWW. All I could get was self storage services such as AMJ Campbell's.
Those are called, "Safety deposit box"... All the major banks have these boxes.
Contact your bank and they will tell you the yearly fee for different sizes.
Thanks,
just for information,
you have to go your bank and ask for safety deposit box, but rightnow is a long queue, you can not get right away, i have account with TD bank and ask for locker almost 7 months ago, still they told you are in priority...
Try your bank may be you are lucky one??

Also a little known fact is that you can claim the bank locker fees when you file taxes.
Hello,
Like all things in demand there is a way out in a market economy.
I was with TD and as in the earlier post a long wait and no sign of the locker.
So I went to Scotia , said I would shift my checking account, my mutual funds ( transfer in kind) and have direct deposit of salary into the new checking account provided they give me a locker.
Not only did scotia give me a locker , they waived the fees for 2 years, waived the account charges for 2 years and later i ended up taking my mortagage from them.
So if your bank is not ready, go to another , they will value your business and in these tough times all business is valuable especially ones with good credit scores.
Like any other business a new customer is always given a sweeter deal than the existing customer. So take the benefit become a NEW CUSTOMER ( of another bank).
So not only for locker, we need to be dynamic, see the ever changing situation especially in these tough times and switch. It is a bit of trouble , but saves you money.
Eg - Car Insurance, Cell Phone ( lot of deals make sense even after the contract penalty), Mortgage Rates, etc.
Trust this helps and if it does please inform the forum so others can benefit.
