Hi,

Since you are Canadians, contact the nearest Canadian High Commission there and announce to them the arrival of the baby. If you have valid papers then, submit a copy along with it. ( If I were you I will take two at a time, the steps that is! and why not!?) Now Congratulations to you both.

Now, ask them for an application form for that baby's Passport. Ask them for the guide too.
If you need the Passport in a hurry, then, provide them with the details of the travel documents and give them a time frame that you will be needing the same. They will do it for you as fast as they can, some times within a week.

Does that answer all of your doubts.
