Mr. Massood,
At the outset I must extend my appreciation and heartfelt thanks for the great job that you are doing. It feels good to be heard.
About my case, I applied for Immigration in march 2001 and received my file number in june 2001. At that time I was single. Subsequently I got married and included my husband as a dependent appicant. My qualifying points are 72 and my husband's is 73 but I am still the principal applicant. Both of us have done the IELTS and submitted our results. I got an 8.5 band and my husband got a band of 8.
We have submitted our proof of funds and other details as well.
I have been assured by them that we will get a interview waiver and that a result of our case will be expected latest by the 31st of march 2004.
In the meantime , i check my ecas online status regularly. The strange thing is that I had my name changed after my marriage and have submitted the necessary doculents to them. They have in turn forwarded the same to CHC atleast about 3 times. But the ecas status still reflects my maiden name. It is close to 2 years since i am married and atleast 18 months since i have submitted the change of name documents.
Why hasnt CHC updated the information on their website? Is it dependable to go by what is seen on the online status? Could it be possible that the CHC has not got their hands on my file for a long time an hence the delay?
Pls advise further course of action. Thanks and warm regards.
Dont rely too much on the online status. I had my online status as "in process" and its details showing my interview date even when l was sent invitaion for visa stamping. But finally now it shows decision made.

I don't rely on on the online status.

Thanks Manjeet and Massood. that answer was reassuring.
I have a new question for all of you. I am a retail professional specifically in the field of Visual Merchandising and store planning. I have about 8 years of experience. How easy or difficult would it be for me to get a job in a related field in Canada, specifically toronto.
Also my husband is an MBA and a Brand manager in India's biggest Liquor company and he handles about 5 brands. What are his chances of landing a job there and how quickly after we move would it be realistic to expect it.
could you also tell me what is the avearge expenses per month for a vegetarian couple in toronto?
