Dear desi....
I am basicaly indian and Applied CHC on July-2001 from srilanka, I got interview & medical on 14nov2006 at srilanka ,Medical done (completed medical on 29thnov-2006, at ahemdabad,gujarat) let me inform following ....
1) What approximate time taken after medical ....
2) should i sent Passport to Srilanka (bcz. as per possport rules we can't
send it out side country by mail/.courier..) or we can stamped it at india ....
Kindly guid me

It takes about 2 months after medical if everything is clear if there is a need for redoing medical then CHC will let you know this is the only thing that may delay the process.
Regarding sending out passport well no courier will take it out of the country it is illegal so your options are
1. someone carries your passport to srilanka by hand and mails to CHC and upon stamping Visa they can mail it to an address in srilanks and someone can bring it back.
2. you travel to srilanks and stay put there till the passports are stamped and returned takes about 4-6 weeks dont know about CHC in srilanka.
My situation was opposite i was in a foreign country and had to send passports to India and get them back and i got help from firends to carry them physically trust me it is a very dicey situation and i couldnt sleep well for 6 weeks without passport in a foriegn country so think ,plan and carryout with minimum risk

I think time frame is vary country to country. At CHC-Delhi it may be 2 to 6 months to get visa after medical.
However, "Just Landed" CD's should know better. Anyone ???
surely time frames vary from one CHC to another CHC .Mine was from CHC Delhi and i mentioned that time frame ...
