During my interaction on the subject of astrology, with a number of my friends the following few questions have frequently cropped up. Where as different persons have different opinions on each of these topics, I would like to have more opinions on these subjects:

1. In case the whole life destiny destiny (Bhagya) of a child is determined, at the time of birth on the basis of the position of planets at the time of birth, (as per the fundamentals of predictive astrology) does it mean that there is no freedom of action to the individual in the scheme of life and there is no role of the Karma in the life of individual?

2. In case, the type and nature of spouse as well as the type of married life a person is likely to have can be predicted on the basis of the horoscope of the native, what is the role of matching of the horoscopes before marriage?

3. Incase the extent of success a person is likely to achieve in various aspects of life is to be determined by the birth horoscope, what is the role of ‘Muhurta’ (determining auspicious time) for starting various activities like starting a commercial venture, starting construction activity, entering a new house etc.,etc.,

4. In case a good period or a bad period is determined well in advance by the study of the birth horoscope of a person and certain events are bound to happen, what is the scope/effect of remedial measures (Shanti etc.,) suggested by the astrologers?

5. Whether a period of seven and a half years based on the transit of Saturn (called sadhe saati) which is bound to come in every person’s life at least twice, is bound to be very bad to the extent that nothing good can take place during this period and disastrous events are bound to take place during these periods?

6. Whether a person having “Kaal Sarpa Yog” in his birth horoscope is doomed to be a failure in life or is destined to have a life full of troubles at every step?

7. Are children born in “Moolas” ( Nakshatra Gandantas ) either destined to suffer in life or they are to inauspicious to some of their specific relativces? If yes, how can this destiny be changed by performance of some shanti/Puja by a Karma kandi pandit?

Bhuvanj, I cannot say much since I am not a professional astrologer. All I have understood in all these years I have been reading and believing in astrology is that whatever you get in this life is your past life's deeds (if you believe in rebirth), but you can change you fruits for this life (and also for next life) with karma.

Shani is not a bad planet, it's a satvik planet. It will give you whatever you deserve. Some people prosper in Sade Sati. So if you do good deeds you too can get an ok or good sade sati instead of an horrible one.


Regarding kaal sarp yog: Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira gandhi were also having kaal sarp yog, but they saw heights in their life which people only wish to see but never actually see.

Astrologers say that in previous birth you have annoyed one or more planets so in this birth, if you respect them you can improve your life. If in last birth, you didn't respect ur wife, you have a bad venus. Result is that in this birth you might have a bad wife or may be something else related to venus like skin in a bad condition. So better do something which can make venus shant now, so that things improve for this and next birth also.

Hi guys..well the questions posed here are quite valid and sensible...veeru should have replied to some of these..he has good knowledge of the subject..anyways..lets try to find some answers..
Muhurata: it is a time when conditions are favourable for something...if someone is destined to succeed and the person starts the thing in the wrong muhurata then the success might get delayed. Its like swimming with the current which will make it easier...if that person swims against the current of water..he will no doubt be successful but the effort put in and the time taken will be much more....

today i would like to answer another query put in this thread

Horoscope matching is based on nakshatras...the gunas are taken as the standard scale for measuring the success of a marriage. The gunas take into view the range right from the dominance to progeny ....but what has been found in the real life is that persons having more than average guna matching are not that happily married and people with less than average score are doing ok.....so there must be a reason behind this... On the basis of my meagre knowledge on the subject I have come to know that
1 The astrologers totally ignore the lagnesh or the lord of self who represents the personality of the person...the lagnesh of both the parties should be freinds
2 The lord of the moon house should be friends
3 Very importantly the position of Jupiter in case of females and that of Venus in case of males should be watched closely...
[It is not the final word but] if these things are not kept in mind while matching the horos the correct results cannot be predicted..

Now coming to the question ..if we know that the married life of a person is destined to be disturbed ...what we can do is marry that person to the person whose married life is not that disturbed...so that the average result can be achieved.... i would beg to state the following example...
if Rahu is in the marriage house of a person...that person is bound to have problems in marriage ..either the spouse will be sick or stay away ...and if Rahu is very strong it might result in divorce...so what we can do is marry the person to a person whose marriage house has a strong enemy of Rahu...ie Mars....but keep in mind that gunas should be average..... position of Jupiter and Venus should also be watched..

Actually these things are not written in books..these can only be learnt from a learned and wise Guru[which is of course a rare breed these days] thats why an astrologer's wisdom should be very very sharp and for that the Guru of planets -- Jupiter should be very strong and the astrologer should also try to keep it strong by following a strict diet and prayer routine..

Dont waste your time with Astrology.

I am not telling Astrology is wrong, its science. Although, the prediction shd be based on very detail calculations, perfect time of birth(astrology says time of birth -means when the conception was occured .. do we have that time ???) and also religious scriptures says..in life there is 3 part...1. Dharma...2. Present Karma ..3. previous life kamrma(astrology) have equal % in life what will happen.. so astrology is only 33% ...we have another 70% to change the life with doing good and dharma. I mean whatever astrologer says dont happen.. even they are very very true. your luck is in your hand , previous life and this life also karma impacts...so try to believe in that means yourself.

tell me one thing, in world 2-3 person born at the same time same mintues...even at same place. why thier is difference in what is happening in their life. both dont get same life.....

One of my friend she have love marriage and they are very happy each other ..and great understanding, after 10 years they have gone to match their kundli .. it got 8 guna..and they laughed. I believe we shd try to do good karma and pray to god for best result..if still things go wrong..oh ya..tht happens..dont blam on astrology. if everything happens what has been written .. what is the value of persent of karma? what is value of prayer ..god.
I have seen couple .. get divorse even their kundli have 32-35 guna matched...I believe tht is present karma.

Like if its written in my kundli tht this year i will pass exam with good mark..but i hve not study so what will happen..as its written tht will happen..no way.

dont waste your time in astrology. believe in god and yourself..and when something dont happen well..learnt out of it.

If astrology is such a great science, why this astrologers are not looking their own kundli's..and try to achieve biggest successs..in right time
