Hi,
I'm currently working in India and applied for Canadian GC in skilled worker category. I worked in the US for almost 2.5 years and returned to India last year. I am aware that I need to get the FBI clearance certificate for my stay in US. I am facing difficulty in getting the finger printing card to be sent to FBI from India. Can anyone please guide me in this matter to get the police Clearance for my stay in US? The American Consulate in Mumbai has informed that they will not assist me in any way. If anyone has done this from India and is willing to share the procedure will be of great help to me.
Thanks in advance for ur help ...

I'd suggest write to the FBI address where you have to send it for clearance requesting them to send you the ID cards. You can even explain your situation and ask FBI for suggestions. I m sure they must be doing this for many others who are not in
US and need clearance.
Dont giveup if US counsulate says "NO"...keep trying there is always a way...we only have to find it.
Try emailing to a US based immigration lawyer asking for advise.
Goodluck !!

Hello,
You can call FBI and they will send you the required card to be fingerprinted. When you call them, you will have to leave your name and address on a voicemail. You would want to spell out both your name and the address on the voicemail. I received mine within two weeks.
Their address and phone numbers are:
FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION
ATTN: IDENTIFICATION DIVISION
1000 CUSTER HOLLOW ROAD
CLARKSBURGH, WEST VIRGINIA 26306
USA
Phone: 304-625-2703
(304) 625-3878 to check on status
(304) 625-2000 Main switchboard
You would need to send $18 (no personal checks or cash) with it, that will be explained in the package.
Also, I have seen various post that said that you would need to send a cover letter explaining why you need the fingerprints.
You may also need state clearance. The addresses are on:

As I stated, I received my cards, now my problem is where do I go to get fingerprinted. As the US embassy said they wont do it. I am thinking of getting an ink pad and doing it myself. Anyone has any suggestion on that?
Thanks
Ray
