Hello,
I am the PR of Canada but presently i am working in USA on H1B visa, and i
am planning to move to canada in the end of this year but i can not sponser
my spouse as according to canada immigration rules a PR card holder cannot
sponser his spouse from outside canada. So i am planning to take her visit
visa (multiple) and enter her in the canada.
So please tell me that ---
can i sponser her when i and she both reside canada ie can i change her visa
status when she will be reside canada.
or
i will have to send my spouse to her home country(India) and do all the
immigration processing from there.
there are a lot of ppl who apply for immigration from within canada. maybe your wife could be in that catagory. you might want to inform the councellate of your wedding and your move.
if you go on the website http://www.cic.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK and look up sponser ship - change in policy for spouces. you might get a answere there
You should ask this question in Mr. Massood's column, i.e.
http://www.canadiandesi.ca/board.php?FID=19
It is generally assumed that spouse canot be sponsered on a visitor's visa from a PR of Canada. A similar situation occured to my friend who wanted his wife to come to Canada on Visitor's visa only. He wrote to the canadian counsulate in New Delhi regarding this and they replied to him that they recevice a lot of requests of this kind and that they will issue his wife a visitors visa if and when he applied. They also advised him to send along with the application form a copy of the e-mail that they sent.
So for all people who want to sponser their spouse for only Visitor's visa, I wish to inform you that this is possible now through the Canadian counsulate at New Delhi.
Hope this info. was of use to someone.
