Dear Masoodji,
Due to my ignorance (minors passports are not renewed but new issued) my son's passport with the Canadian PR visa inside has been cancelled. We are planning to make our first landing in February 2006.
For a Visa for UAE we wanted more than 6 months validity so I submitted for renewal of his passport. Indian Embassy has issued a new passport after canceling the old passport. When I asked the authorities they informed that there is a stamp in the new pp saying that “the holder traveled on pp No.___ previously and visa in the old passport stands valid”.
In the letter received from CHC London there is a statement saying that the \\\"Visa should be valid and should be in a Valid passport\\\".
What can happen in this case?, I’ve already contacted CHC London.
I am under very high pressure, please advice.

If the previous passport has expired, then it's better to inform the embassy and they will do needful.
Otherwise, I have seen people landing with children's visas in cancelled old passport. You still have some time.

Please let everyone know what happened.
Standard practice is that you carry both passports and visa retains its validity. But in a specific case, things may be different.
CHC London contacted me within 2 working days. Informed me by e-mail that my son’s visa is not valid and needs to be re-issued. Asked me to send the copy of passport by fax. Within a day a visa was issued and was forwarded to Canadian embassy Abu Dhabi by CHC London.
As per request of Abu Dhabi office I sent the passport and got the new visa stamped on the new pp and the old visa on old passport is stamped cancelled. Re-issuance charge was $90.
