Now I am filing taxes in Canada due to income from there, I am told by my CA (in Canada) that I have to show the worldwide income. I am filing/paying my taxes in India also based on the income in India. Do I need to show that income in Canada also?
Yes, worldwide income needs to be declared. You will get some credit for the the taxes paid in India, but not much.
Have you filed for NR status. Details were provided in another recent post
BTW, April 30th is the last day for filing taxes.

That depends on if you have severed ties with Canada.
I have severed ties legally with Canada (With an acknowledgement from the CRA).
I have filed my tax for 2011. Once I get the refund, I will not file again, until I settle in Canada permanently post age 65.
Peace

If I recollect there was an extensive discussion on taxation, residency and men's underwear, all in an ancient CD thread. Unfortunately, I am not able to retrieve it from the CD search option.
A dated article:

From the above link(CA's will have to confirm the validity of the post):
"...and it was recommended that expats DO NOT submit the NR73 form. The lawyer explained that if you give CCRA the opportunity to deny your non-resident status, they are much more likely to do so than if you simply leave, declare that you have left Canada on your last tax return, and file no further returns. "
"You are not legally required to fill out the NR73, so I will leave it up to you. The increased scrutiny of the tax department of any country is not something many of us would want."
