Hello Everyone, when we get into Canada with a Work Permit,
can the employer restrict in the Work Permit, that an employee cannot file for a PR for indefinite period. ? or for specific period.?
your answers are welcome...
regards
Rajanat
Say if you have a ONE YEAR WORK PERMIT, and you apply to stay here in Canada and apply for your PR for yourself and the family, it takes about TWO Months for the local processing and then it gets sent to your native country. It might take another EIGHT Months to get the paper work to return. So, if within a year you will have all of the PR work complete and you don't or won't be needing any more Work Permit.
All of this happens side by side. So what if the employer gets to know about it. He cannot do any damage to your application because he does not know bout your application. There are privacy rules in this game. If you qualify for Immigration with all of the points etc., and on a WP, you just sail through the process.
If you have to get stamping done, find out from them which is the center that they want you to go to. Take a day off and get it the stamping done. You are a PR from then on.
Freddie.
