My niece is 17 yrs old... and she wishes to do her undergrad in Engineering from Canada. She has already done her SAT 1 and will do the SAT 2 shortly.
She is extremely bright, top performer and is doing the IB curriculam from Dhirubhai Ambani in Mumbai.
Can somebody please suggest good schools and do any of these schools give financial aid ?
Also, would it be better to arrive here and then apply for a PR. Would she avail of the priv. that canadian students enjoy ?
Any thoughts are welcome

Since your niece is only 17 and still a student, she cannot apply for PR in the skilled worked category before coming to Canada as a student.
As for PR, she can apply under the Canadian Experience Class, but this can only happen after she has completed her studies and gathered some work experience in Canada in the "priority professions"and that too after getting a work-visa.
In light of all this, your niece currently has only one option - apply for a student visa based on the admission that she secures. She will have to pay fees as a foreign student, which can be 3-4 times more than what a Canadian or PR pays.
In terms of finacial aid, Canadian universities are not as generous as the U.S in doling out financial aid (especially to foreign students). A better option for her would be to try doing her studies from the US, where she will have 10 times as many options.
