Hi,
I submitted my citizenship application to USCIS on April 3rd, 2008. The website shows that the application has been forwarded to the local USCIS office at Windsor, ON on July 3, 2008.
I have been out to USA for 2-3 months. I requested mail forwarding via canadapost and the mail forwarding started working -- I got couple of forwarded usual mails.

I have some queries and shall be grateful if you could have answer to any of these:
1. Do the USCIS mails get forwarded? (Is there any DO NOT FORWARD request on the USCIS citizenship related mails)
2. When the local USCIS office schedules the citizenship test date, do the online status site shows the citizenship test date too? If so, is that update advance enough to rely on to attand the citizenship test?
3. Do USCIS usually call me at the phone number in file to let me know about the citizenship test date? Do you suggest that I give them my current US phone number (request them to update the Canadian home phone number) so that I get their information when/if they call?

Just an update from my end.

I sent my citizenship application on June 11 (received by cic on June 16). No acknowledgement received yet. I contacted them last week on Friday. According to them, at that time they were processing and sending acknowledgements for the applications received on May 30.

I am hoping to receive any communication from them by the mid of August. Hopefully!

delivered July 21, 2008

Acknowledgement letter recvd : Mar 08
Test date : July 9, 08.
Oath : Sept 09, 08.

Received Citizenship few days back.

Here's the timeline:

Applied from Mississauga on Oct 02, 2007.
Received Application : Oct 05, 2007.
Started processing : Jan 31, 2008.
File transferred to CIC Mississauga : May 03, 2008.
Citizenship Test Date : June 13, 2008.
Citizenship Oath Date : Sept 02, 2008.
