Hi all,

we are going to have a baby in oct. since this is our first baby, i am so confused regarding the brands and types of strollers cribs, bottles and other baby items.

we are planning to buy the travel system(stroller and infant car seat), but dont know what things to look for and where to buy. Graco, Eddie Bauer are some of the brands we saw in sears, toyrus and walmart or some specialty stores ( as they claim that there products are good in terms of wood and quality).

any ideas and suggestion where to go, for good quality and reasonable price. and what to look, like storage space, canopy, 3-point harness system(i don’t know what does it mean) softness of the seat......

also are they washable? as we will be using the same set for the second child, so should we go for dark blues or black colour? any experience and suggestions? any cheaper source?

any desi pregnant sakhi living in Mississauga area likes to share ideas regarding designs of bedding, knitting stitching for baby?

Congrats for the new one and i am sure you all are excited. Regarding Crib ,buy one that had 3 levels of adjustment .
For stroller make sure it can be inclined for baby sleeping position as well .
Graco , safety first etc are good brands and travel system is a good idea too...I would even recommend going for convertable ones..with have 3 system..carseat,stroller and booster seat(which u will eventually need once baby is 20 pounds and above) .
Its a good idea to buy bounce or rocker for the baby . You can use this till he is a toddler and its very convenient when u get busy with work. you can rock him to sleep in it too..

what's the difference between baby car seat and booster seat? Are not both the same?

A infant car seat is used for babies from day 1 upto 2 years or 20 pounds.
the booster seat is used after that from toddler till ur child is not ready to sit directly on car seat like u, say may be upto 12 years. these rules with exact weight and age are in driving booklet or flyers in toy r us and sears etc.

there are options for convertible car seats, which claims that u can use them from day one upto 12 years, but u have to check with ur hospital first. as some hospital doesnt allow you to take ur 2 days new born home in those. and u want to bring ur little angel home as soon as possible. :-)
