Last Friday, I was watching ‘Dateline’ on NBC. For those not familiar, Dateline is quite similar to Fifth Estate on CBC. The show that day was about catching sexual predators.
NBC had setup a sting operation along with the county Sheriffs at Riverside County, California. These predators after chatting online explicitly with either a “13-year old” boy or girl (depending on the personal taste, I suppose) visit the home of the youngster, who has claimed that he/she would be home alone, to simply put, have sex. Once the predators enter the home via the back patio door, the Dateline host, with cameras, confronts them. Few guys talk, some run away, most claim they were “curious” and nothing else, etc etc. Then they were free to go. So these dudes walk out the front door, meet an arsenal of Sheriffs and get arrested and booked.
Within a day, 50 or so predators were arrested !!! The charge is a felony and that means it carries a jail sentence. The arrested were from a diverse group that included a high school teacher, a criminal investigator working for the Dept of Homeland Security, a registered sex offender who is still on probation, a criminal with a violent record, and so on.
Adding to this diversity was a good ole’ desi by the name of Inderjit Singh !!
At least, I was glad when he spoke decent English while pleading to the cops to let him go since, according to him, he was there to do nothing.

The funny part of Inderjeet singh was that he started speaking law....saying unless u catch me in the act its not a crime...when asked whether he was a lawyer, he said NO...
later he was handcuffed and taken off
