At the competition venue, once the students receive their case, crunch time begins! They have a half hour to read and analyze the case and prepare the solutions and presentation strategy ( with the exception of IMC case wherin competitors get 1 hour). They are escorted to a judging room where they are allotted just 15 minutes to deliver their presentation and 5 minutes to field questions. The judges are industry professionals, faculty and senior government officials.
This prestigious competition is hosted annually by an individual college and is driven as a student-centred event with volunteer faculty providing organizational assistance. The OCMC provides students with enormous opportunities to participate, and network. The event is funded annually by corporate sponsors, the host college, and registration fees.
This year the competition was hosted by Niagara College, and the venue was The Sheraton on the Falls, Niagara Falls November 13 and 14.
