Three held in Gurgaon for college girl's gangrape








Gurgaon, June 8 (IANS) Three young men, including an engineer, were arrested here Friday for gangraping a college girl, while a fourth accused is on the run, Haryana Police said.

Manish Kumar, Bhim Singh and Praveen Kumar were Friday arrested and taken on one-day police remand for allegedly gangraping a second-year student here in the DSD college.

All the four and the girl belong to Rajpura village in the Pataudi sub-division of Gurgaon district.

Manish Kumar is an engineer at the government power plant at Jhadli in Jhajjar district of Hayana. Praveen Kumar is a trader and owns a furniture shop at Hero Honda Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. Bhim Singh is said to be a farmer while the fourth attacker Rohit is on the run. All the accused are in their mid-20s.

"They raped the girl on several occasions during the last six months. They also made video films of their acts and threatened the victim with uploading film on internet if she complained," police station chief Yashwant Singh told IANS.

Manish had promised to get the girl a job in one of the finest hospitals in the city in December 2011.
