BJP MLA to be put through lie detector test in Masood murder case

Bhopal, March 9 (IANS) In a significant development, a special court has granted permission to CBI officials to conduct polygraph test of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Dhruv Narayan Singh in connection with the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood, officials said Friday.

During the ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation probe, the diary of Zahida Parvez, an interior designer arrested for the alleged murder of Masood, had revealed that the Bhopal BJP MLA was not only friends with Masood, but was very close to Zahida and her friend Saba Frooqui as well.

Dhruv Narayan, 53, the son of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Govind Singh, was also chairman of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) and Bhopal Development Authority (BDA).

Along with Zahida, Farooqui and city-based criminal Shaqib 'Danger' are in custody of the CBI and the CBI court had given permission for their lie detector tests.

CBI sleuths, seeing the alleged close relations of the lawmaker with the prime accused and others, had requested the special CBI court of Shubhra Singh Friday to conduct lie-detector test on him, which the court has permitted.
