More women in Britain do make-up on public transport

London, March 1 (IANS) A rising number of women are preferring to put on their make-up while commuting for work rather than in the privacy of their own bathrooms, says a British survey which found seven out of 10 women applying all their cosmetics while being on public transport.

The Debenhams survey found those who make up their faces before leaving home, nine out of 10 touch it up on the train, Tube or bus, the Daily Express reported Thursday.

Even though eyeliner was deemed the most difficult to apply, a third of women said they still attempted it every day.

Lipstick was the most common cosmetic applied on the move, followed by pressed powder and blusher.

Interestingly, over three-quarters of the survey women said they suffered a make-up mishap caused by sudden traffic stops, being pushed by fellow passengers or juggling cosmetics and a mirror while standing on a packed train or bus.
