Asuncion, Dec 18 (IANS/EFE) Mexican rockers Mana thrilled a crowd here with a spectacle of sound and light in the band's first concert in Paraguay since 2007. More than 25,000 fans packed Asuncion's Jockey Club Paraguayo for the Thursday night show, the promoters said. 'Good evening, Paraguay; good evening, Asuncion, we missed you,' lead singer Fher boomed shortly after he and drummer Alex Gonzalez, bass player Juan Calleros and guitarist Sergio Vallin took the stage. The set highlighted the veteran band's recent material, including songs from their latest album, 'Drama y luz', while many in the audience sang along on favourites such as 'Corazon Espinado', 'Latinoamerica', 'Amor clandestino' and 'Perdido en un barco'. Mana, pioneers of the Rock en Espanol movement that emerged in the 1980s, last appeared in Paraguay in 2007, performing at Defensores del Chaco soccer stadium in the capital. The band's gig in Asuncion followed several shows in Argentina.
