Three dead in Nigeria suicide attack

Abuja, Feb 21 (IANS) At least three people were killed and two injured in a suicide bomb attack Wednesday in Nigeria's Maiduguri city, Xinhua reported. The dead included the suicide bomber.

The suicide bomber, suspected of links to the Boko Haram sect, targeted a patrol team in morning at post office round about in Maiduguri metropolis, said Sagir Musa, spokesperson for the Joint Task Force.

Maiduguri, located in Nigeria's northeastern region, is a Boko Haram flashpoint, where the Nigerian government had to impose curfews following a wave of militant attacks.

The Human Rights Watch, in its latest report said, over 1,500 people, including women and children, have been killed in various attacks by the Boko Haram sect since 2009.
