Gurgaon, Feb 15 (IANS) Angry villagers forced open one of three toll plazas on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway here Friday, giving vehicles a free run without having to pay the toll tax. The villagers were demanding that a service lane near their Narsinghpur village along the expressway needed to be repaired urgently, a toll plaza employee said. The lane is usually water logged and full of potholes. When toll plaza officials told them to approach the administration, the villagers forced open all the toll plaza gates, allowing vehicles to drive through without paying the toll tax. The situation could be controlled only an hour later, a traffic police officer said. The Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd (DGSCL) operates the 27.7 km expressway with three toll plazas at Kherki Daula, Sirhol border and one en route to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. "The protesters wanted reconstruction of the service lane to start from Narsinghpur," DGSCL spokesman Sunil Naik told IANS. Narsinghpur village is located 40 km from Delhi on the expressway.
