Riyadh, Feb 3 (IANS) US defence-tech giant Lockheed Martin has launched a branch here in the Saudi capital, a media report said Sunday. Saudi Arabia's King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology also signed a partnership agreement with Lockheed Martin aimed at improving the country's defence capabilities, Xinhua reported citing the Al Sharq Al Awsat newspaper. According to the agreement, Lockheed Martin will not only provide training on military and defence expertise for Saudi Arabia, but will also help the country enhance the technology development through its branch, an official said. Saudi universities will benefit from the agreement as Lockheed Martin will open its labs to professors and researchers. Lockheed Martin, a global aerospace, defence, security and advanced technology company, was founded in 1995. It has 123,000 employees worldwide.
