I believe one has to have a game plan ... one can't just hope the he will go to a foreign country and his education, work experience will be recognized. This will have to someone who comes to India also. Lets not expect that. One should be prepared to teducate himself, gain Canadian education and work experience. Why do one complain and bad for a Country. One need to adjust to Canada and not expect Canada to adjust to a person's requirement.
As Legendary GE CEO has said "Control you destiny or someone else will"
The bottom point, if someone wants to complain he will. If someone wants to build a good life in Canada, he will find a way. If someone wants to be a corporate tycoon, he will study under a street lamp and become one in India. Its how much we are prepared to struggle and how badly we want something.
The bottom line is your desire to suceed should be as strong as the desire to breath when your head is help under water. Nothing comes easy in life.

REAL QUALIFICATION:
MBBS/engineers/ C.A.s/ MCom./Degree/diplomas = Labourer in Canada
Hi raj69,
I do not agree to you. Two examples.
1) My Aunt -
Age - 42
Quailification - BA (From India)
Work Experience - 0 (In India)
Current Profession - Sales (Not Any Labour Job)
If she can get it so can all of you. Getting a job depends on lot of factors, its more to do with attitude, communication and willing to succeed inspite of failures. Negative thinking will get no one anywhere.
2) Shiv Khera (Renound World Motivational Speaker)
Qualification - B.Com (From India)
Profession in Canada - Washing Cars
Today - Travel's the Globe as a Motivational Speaker
The issue is people look at "labour" jobs as something low. This mind set has to change. The problem is people think "I am a BE, MBA", I was a top notch professional in India and now I am doing "labour" job in Canada. This mentality will not get people anywhere. First, no job is low and people need to have some positive attitude then cynical attitude. I have many people working in my team who are B.E. and MBA's. I am only a B.Com. I started working as a Call Center agent when in India people thought working in Call Center is nothing more than being a receptionist. Let's be positive in life. Life will have struggles. I have lived without "electricity" for 6 months in India because the factory where my father worked was "locked out". It was a testing period but it passed. Once we did not had money for the next month to run our hour. Things changed as time went. You have to have a positive attitude.
People who want to come to Canada or get somewhere in life should have a "passion" and endure faliures.
Sure, make a good body to lift load in Canada; but, lift the load so well that no one lift's it better than you do. You only move in life by being good at something and having a clear vision.
To all my friends who want to come to Canada for a better life, remember they made a great Country like U.S.A because the forefathers worked hard and were not afraid of failures. U.S.A. and its history of immigrants is a live examples how a great nation was born.

Canada_calling,
I just wanted to commend you on your views.
I find another website canadaimmigrants.com has a forum which has very similar and somewhat negative views.
My parents came to Canada 30 years ago. They dug in and worked. My dad has a masters degree from India and my mom her Bachelor of Education. They have a very successful business today and have worked hard to make a good life for themselves and us.
I agree totally. Attitude. I find those that have the biggest complaints generally need to look at their own attitudes.
If I took my canadian education/experience to another country..how easy would it be for me to find a job? I feel it would depend. One has to factor in the economics of a country., the unemployment rate of its citizens, the type of industry that I am in etc.
I have heard Canada being referred to as \"Junior USA\"..but its not. Its different, and though I agree there is overt and systemic discrimination like everywhere else, I think it is important to understand the labour market. Labour market means the general trends, not just manual labour
Also get out of Toronto, Vancouver etc. If you move to a city that has larger populations, larger rates of unemployment and more competition expect you may have more problems getting hired! Many rural areas or smaller cities offer lower costs of living, less competition for jobs, and generally friendly and safe areas to raise families. They often have employment opportunities that are more stable.
If people have made their own choice to go to a new country, they should try to find out as much as possible about the economy and the prospects, before they go. They need objective information not just 'friends and families' experiences. The web is a great resource.
I sympathize with job seekers, but remember there are many citizens that are professionals and unemployed as well. Not only immigrants.
