Hello Full House,

Further to my query and your responses, would like to update you on the latest in this regard.

I have come to know from PEO that my file has been closed as I did not write the exams within the prescribed time. No i will have to start from the scratch.

So again I will have to deposit the fee and start the process from zero. I don't know how PEO works but its bit unfair for someone to go over and start from scratch who have already been assessed, evaluated and gone through the whole process. All my records are with PEO, could have just asked to submit fee (or late fee) and appear in exams. Anyways, since this is how they work so wondering what options do I have now. As you have enough experience dealing with such cases, would want you to suggest if I should start the fresh application again as they are saying now or should apply from a different province. I have heard that in Alberta, they (APEGA) don't ask to write exams, but ask for some write up and if at all needed may ask for an interview. In other words, its much easier there to get P.Eng than in Ontario. Please looking at the new development, suggest how should I proceed now. I want to get my P.Eng somehow. Thanks

I see you have done your Spade work and know a lot more about Professional Engineering. Nevertheless you need to know that there are more institutions that will provide you with help and assistance here in Ontario, because there are more jobs and opportunities for Employment here.

This is for BC. British Colombia.
It could be the same for Alberta too.

These are only a few that I know. Please visit an OPEN HOUSE services provided by these organizations and get to meet the participants in person and form a NETWORK with them and use their services because you are new to this place and will need a car and other mobility services to get to them. So, you will need a lot of LEAD Time to accomplish all of these or be working 18 hours a day working head over heals.

Please do keep in touch.

Good luck. Safe landing.

FH.

I hope you are doing well. My friend has had a similar situation, but he decided to pass the text. He has worked hard, learned a lot of materials, surfed samplius and other free essay platforms. He has a life philosophy to do everything by himself. But I think that the usage of such services as XXXXXXXX can be beneficial in this question. Sometimes it's hard to overcome all obstacles on the way to Educational degrees.

Show me a man who stands his ground and I will show you one who can't get his pants off!!

Life's philosophy and holding onto it is well worth his time and effort. In the current times it is a quality that is hard to come by. Hang in there and slog your life off.

Your friend has also done his spade work in reading through the essays and articles too. That will push him over the top when the real time comes and he is found he is on his own most likely in the EXAM Hall.

What he needs is a little help to push him over the threshold and just for this, I would advice him to enrol into a course and fight to make it through the rigours of the course and the demands from the COACH to make it to the top. They also show how to do it and what the salient points that the EXAMINER looks for in your response in the answers from you in your exam papers.

Hence a slight nudge in the right direction.

Good Luck.

F.H.

I also read this service with free examples and it's great, sometimes it can help. But if the task is on a difficult topic, it’s hard for me to cope on my own. And although I try to develop and improve my skills all the time, sometimes without the help of professionals it will be difficult to cope. It’s good that your friend can do everything on his own, but I have a different life rule - do it perfectly or don’t do it at all, if I understand that I can’t do it properly, I’d better seek help.

Hi Hasni,

I'm sorry to hear about your Ontario file being closed.

Yes, you might find it slightly easier in Alberta since they don't do the ERC interview and have a more straightforward experience reporting process too (in my opinion). Instead of the Experience Record, it's a Competency-Based Assessment with 22 competencies to fill out.

Also, if you do have to write technical exams, you sometimes are given the option of writing the 6-hour fundamental of engineering exam instead of a bunch of 3-hour technical exams. Some like that option better as you can get it over in one shot.

You're probably well on your way down this journey, but feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. I help aspiring engineers with the licensing steps as my career.

Regards,
Gavin Simone, P.Eng.
