Wondering if any one has been thru a following scenario and provide some perspective.
1/ Canadian Citizen.
2/ Moved for a job to USA.
3/ while in US on H1 buy a small apartment \ condominium.
4/ H1 completed or for some reason had to move back to Canada.
How do I manage the property in USA?
if there is a stable rental income what are the tax implications.? assuming that the house is being rented via a property management company.
Can the US taxes be paid from Canada?
is it taxed double or is like NAFTA where you pay tax and origination point and then get credit in Canada.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have no property management experience as I have employed a property manager. And judging by all the work he does, I know it is a time consuming job. If you have time to spare, and the energy to learn and develop your expertise, you can manage your own property. The advantage is that you are fully aware of everything that regards your property.
Good luck!
