You may want to rethink the name. Maybe "Hardi" is a nice name in Gujarathi but Hardy is a boy's name (Remember "Hardy boys", Laurel and Hardy). Your daughter might be rediculed.
My real name was a redicule in Tamil nadu and it was one of the reasons that I had to come to a western country. B'cos of the redicule, it made me feel so insecure at school.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for sharing your views; however,In your example above 'Laurel and Hardy', Hardy is a family name. His name is Oliver.
Same in Hardy Boys. Don't know the names

Dont forget your baby girl will go to pre-school here, elementary school here, grade school, part-time after school job, etc ... and a name is something that will be with her forever ...
While I think it is an interesting name, especially with the definition you have mentioned, you should think of other connotations of the name and possibly how kids on the playground might make fun of it.
Also, you should watch Russell Peter's "Outsourced" for more on this particular name you have chosen.

HARDY.......... looks like boy's name
I was bit surprised with the name you choose for your loving daughter. The issue of name will arise again once your daughter is grown big. She will question you for not keeping a good name.
My advise to you is to change the name ASAP. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.
