Hi
I am planning to buy a town house in a few months and have a few questions:
-Is there any home inspection for a town house?
-Some people told me to be beware of baseboard heatings in town houses. what exactly is this? what difference does it make?
-Normally, what is covered in the maintainance fees for town houses? what are the additional expenses that I need to budget for?
Is there any other major factor that I need to consider?

Hi there
We just bought a townhouse
1. We did get the home inspection done tough not the env check up
2. Our's is a freehold townhoues and we have budgeted for the following
- Utilities
- Home insurance
- CMHC(depending the downpayment put)
- Increased transportation if any
- House tax.

The envoirnmental checks are not required in general. Only when the subject property shows signs of grow ops, the home inspector or Realtor can advise more thorough inspection.
I listed and sold one property that was used as a grow house in the past. There are steps that Realtors need to take before the house can be sold to any potential buyer. Most important is the full disclosure to the buyers and their Realtor. A smart listing agent will make the pre-listing envoirnmental inspection report available, at the cost of the seller.
Working with an experienced Realtor when buying or selling can save time, money and you will also receive answers to many general questions, legal assistance etc.
