I got admitted at Mcgill University - PhD in Management(Specialization: Finance). I am planning to go there. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea about the status/reputation of university. I believe Mcgill is considered to be one of the best universities in Canada.
I have done my research and the professor I want to work under has showed some interest in having me as his student.
Just wanted to hear the views of some of you about it.
Thanks
As far as Management and Medical is concerned McGill for sure is one of the best universities in Canada...

Hey Guys,
Thanks for your reply.
As far as my background is concerned, I have a Masters in Electrical Engineering (Signal Processing) from United States (Bachelor's from India). I worked in an investment firm for about a year as a Junior Quantitative Analyst. I am interested in working in Quantitative Finance and seems a couple of profs. at Mcgill are interested in working with me. Yes, I am fully funded by Mcgill. I took GRE about 4 years ago when I applied for my masters (Verbal: 500, Quantitative: 800, Analytical: 730).
If you wanna apply for PhD, make sure you get excellent recos. Try to get it from reputed profs. Besides recos, the other important thing is to have excellent Statement of Purpose. These two things can decide between securing an admission and getting rejected. Interestingly, I was rejected by schools which are not as good as Mcgill but are in United States. Perhaps, because of the amount of competition. If you have really good crendentials and wanna work in Finance, University of Toronto is supposed to be the best in Canada (easier to get to New York City from there).
Starting in September?
LD
Yes, starting in September. Are you going to Mcgill too?
