For applying PR card, whether birth certificate is compulsory. I didn't register my birth with any government department. Is there any alternative?
When You land, They automatically fill out a PR application for you, take your pictures and the only documents you need are your Passport, Landing Document and Proof of Funds.

Are you asking about PR card or applying for immigration. I'm confused 'cuase your location shows as "India". You'd apply for a PR card only after you land here.

For applying for immigration birth certficate is not necessary.
You need only passport. Inaddition you may use high school certficate.
