Any thought and comment from tech desi on VoIP (voice on internet protocol). Presently I am with Bell telephone and it is expensive, I come to know that VoIP is much more cheaper in local or long distant call. Your comments & ideas (which services providerto choose) will help most of us…..Himal

HIMAL,,,,,VOIP is the future in telecommunication. VOIP is not only cheap, but adds on many features that other PSTN telelphone providers don't have or you pay lots to get those features. Features like call forwarding, simultaneous ring, out of network number, Virtual number,call id block, Free calls anywhere in US and Canada and europe and many more. But you have to understand that VOIP requires high speed internet, so if you donot currently have high speed internet, you need to get one. So you pay internet+VOIP provider. But its worth especially becoz free calling anywhere in europe,canada and USA+ you can never miss a call if u have a cell phone too. Hope this will help you to make a good decesion.

U do not have free long distane but if you call long distance or international number provided by same service provider then it is considered local call
