Hi Friends,
I need your valuable suggestions and advice.
I ordered a Sumeet mixie from a company in Toronto, to be delivered to my home in the USA in the second week of January 2005.They promised to deliver in 21 days. When the Mixie was nowhere in sight after 21 days, I called the company guy(there is only one person who answers the phone) and he promised that the mixie would come before I move.
But it did not come. So, when I asked him to cancel the order explaining that I was moving, he asked me where I was moving. I told him Canada. He asked for my address in Vancouver and promised to send the mixie. Still no sign of mixie.I am tired of calling him and sending him emails.
Finally he gave me a UPS tracking number. When contacted, the UPS says that the tracking number has not been used.
He is refusing to cancel the order too.I am told the mixie is in transit, for the past 2 weeks.
My husband is furious and telling me that US$176/ has gone down the drain.
Our credit card has been charged in January itself.
Tell me what to do?
I will very much appreciate your input.
Thanks.

HOPE
1.) Call up the Credit Card Company and dispute the charge on ur CC
2.) They will go through a process and initiate proceedings for you to recover back the money.
3.) The basic premise of ur dispute would be "non delivery of goods"
4.) File a complaint with the local (which in this case would be Toronto) branch of BBB
5.) Publish your report on http://www.ripoffreport.com...." rel="nofollow">LINK
You will get your money back. The CC company will deal with this guy... Make sure you send the CC company all the information/conversations you had with the guy...IN addition, sending them the "fake" UPS tracking # also will help your case with the CC company.
Best of luck and pls let us know what the outcome was

Did u order it over the net ?
If yes, File a complaint with the IFCC (Internet Fraud Complaint Centre) : http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp
Its a partnership between the FBI and the National White collar crime center.
My friend had a similar experience when he bought something on ebay and the other guy said that he had shipped the goods, but my friend never got anything.
After my friend filed a complaint with the IFCC, The other guy called back to apologize and shipped the items right away....Heard he was scared to
( Probably cops paid him a visit or he was called to a local police station or they called him at his work or something )
BTW, which company did u buy it from?

Hi Friends,
Thank you so much for the useful and informative input.
I have decided to send the guy one more email requesting for cancellation of order and to give me a definite reply.
And then "ACTION"
I ordered online only.(sumeet.net)
Once again, Thanks a lot for "Canadian Desis " for sparing time to help a fellow Desi in distress.
