Its good to read your comments. It really helps to know in advance of any things you havent thought about before making a plan to move. Btw, my understanding is, if am saving Rs. 10 Lakhs after all expenses here(taxes, tickets to india once a year), and in India I will be saving Rs. 5 lakhs (i: 50%), then the difference can be met by using your time in dynamic Indian market by making long term investment decisions in growing real estate. You can use your evening time or weekend time for the same. The type of person, I would enjoy that time there, as this would invlove meeting people from same culture, making some influential contacts. The time used there making influential contacts and sitiing with them on occasional darru parties bringing something good at later stage. The negative part is politics in office, bad traffic but good part is being close to culture and living life to the fullest. I was in India now for 3 weeks, and I discovered the people who had invested in real estate had got their money doubled in last 2 years (whereas being here in NA, last 2 years I was only hearing recession stories).
Coming to Schools in India, I think children education is better in India till 10 class(not for quality), but for getting local values imbibe in them. After 10th, its good to get 10+1, 10+2 and University education here in Canada.
If children get educated in India, atleast they have some regard for parents and have some emotional part in them. Here because of different culture, they have mindset that they are separate entity then there parents, and living separate after marriage is quite normal.
The way my approach is to get best of both worlds. Btw, every family is different and everyone has different needs. So depends upon your unique situation too, for making decision.
Medical facilities are payed by insurance companies covered by your job in India, plus evryone has its family doctor whose OPD charges are not that big. So you are spending on medical facilties only when required, rather than paying through every pay cheque.
