Well they did have a limit on how much you can download/upload in a month.. I think its 2 GB per month and if you exceed they charge $7.95/GB.. This is true with Bell.. not sure about Rogers.. but I guess they follow similar rules.

Nope, no download limits on Rogers.......haven't been any since I've been a user of the service (I started in June 2003).

r u using the Lite service or the regular high speed service? I am sure Rogers also had this limit a few months ago on the Lite service..
I am using the Bell High Speed.. with no bandwidth limits .. 3mbps

I've been on the Lite service for the past 2 months, had been on the regular Hi-speed service prior to that.

Specifically asked the Customer service representative while downgrading my service though, as I run a heavily used VOIP line on the internet connection in addition to my usage of the internet and downloads. Was told that there were no limits. Been thru the documentation and FAQs several times as well (including right now), and there's no indicator of charges for over limit usage.

There is a 2GB limit on the size of the mailbox for both Lite and regular speed accounts, but I'm sure you are not referring to that.

Yeah.. I am not referring to the mailbox size.. I enquired about a year ago for high speed internet service.. During that time Bell was not available in my area so I had to go with Rogers for a few months.. they did have the bandwidth usage limit back then for the Lite users.. thats why i chose to go with the regular high speed..

anyway its good news that they have removed that limit now.. high speed will become a lot cheaper.. as most of the users don't need the 3mbps line..

Thanks for sharing this info.. I also checked Rogers website.. and found no mention about the bandwidth limit.. I hope Bell implements that soon too..

U do not have to buy a DSL or cable modem when u come here.
They come with the service.

I actually find that a disadvantage because the service provider charges a monthly fees for it.
For example, Bell Sympatico charges $10/month for the modem rental.
To avoid that, you have to sign a 1 or 2 year contract.

Nah i dont think there is a charge for a modem rental...
These are the Internet service providers i have used so far.
Rogers
Primus
Bell

Ive always used the fastest connection offered by these ISP's
Rogers does not charge any modem rental fees for its High Speed Internet....U just pay $ 44.95 a month
Same thing is with Bell Sympatico...its all inclusive of $ 44.95 for DSL ...
I dont know much about Sympatico Light or Rogers High speed light because ive never used it...
Primus too doesnt charge a modem rental fee...Its all inclusive in the amount the charge which i think is $ 44.95 if im not mistaken...

hi bandhan , can u advice me how to down load music from websites ...... it seems that you r expert in computers , please guide me in detail . step by step
thanks in advance

Hey
Downloading music online, there are only a few websites that offer it...
I dont know which ones though
But u can use download a program IMESH from
http://www.download.com/iMesh/3000-2166_4-10035331.html

Install it and then register for it...
U can search and download music using that program
It shouldnt be hard...its straightfoward...
I know other ways of getting music...Check out my thread
http://www.canadiandesi.ca/read.php?TID=7200

For the above website you have to be a bit tech-savvy...
Try and work it out
Cheers
