I am sure many of you would have read about the blast at a Shahrukh Khan's concert in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The background is that the date of the concert coincided with the first death anniversary of a respected monk. The monks had cautioned Sharukh not to have the concert on that date. Mr. Khan decided to go ahead with the concert on the scheduled date, ingnoring the sensitivities/threats of the group.
The result was : 2 deaths and 15 injured fans, including children.
Was Shahrukh right in not changing the date of his concert?
One view could be that such threats should not be given un-necessary importance, life should not stop because of such protests. Moreover, the investments made for the concert would have gone waste. Who would pay for it? And who would have known that the threats would actually materialise...or were they mere hoaxes?
The other view could be that the threat apart, Shahrukh should have taken the Budhist group along and he should have shown respect to their concerns. He could have changed the date of the event. By doing this he would have earned respect for himself and saved some lives. The agony suffered by the killed and injured ppls' relatives was easily avoidable. Shahrukh's view to go ahead with the concert was his personal one, but he had no right to play with the lives of his fans who has come to see him! The decision involved not only his own life but also thousands of the ticket buyers! In the interest of innocent fans, should he not have taken the threat seriously?

You are right BL, some one else could also have done it, but it seems that the Budhists have not denied their involvement yet.
