I am new to the group and needed some help. I am a final year engineering student from chandigarh,India.I am immigrating to canada in june'05 with my parents and younger brother. Reading through the messages put up on the site has really discouraged me regarding the job scenario. knowing that qualified engineers and doctors are doing menial work there sends a chill down my spine. but there are sucess stories also on other hand which encourages us.

I am planning for doing a masters course( in engg) from canadian univs like univ of toronto,waeterloo,mcgill univ etc. i want to know that after graduating from canadian univ will my job prospects improve? also my mother is currently doing CSI(canadian securities course) while in india .She is currently working with OBC bank here. will the course really help her in getting a job in some bank or financial agency?

we are thinking of taking $40,000 to canada with us. also my brother is currently doing 12th here.so should he do bachelors degree in canada or do final year schooling there?
Please guide and help us .

Don't have any idea about your mother.

Whatever the success stories say.........fact is that "It would be very hard for you get job in your field". But if you complete your masters then you would be able to get good jobs. Regarding your brother .....he should definitely study in canada. You can also decide to join
