BKB

Ya, ONE FINE DAY, there will be a millionaire on this forum when C & S come to get those EPs and LPs from me:p I did not mean songs but the long gone records.
My dad even has my great Granpa's HMV megaphone and the player which has to be wound with a handle to get the record playing!! it's something! when the spring gets unwound the speed decreases and the songs sound so funny.......then again you go winding up....:D and here we have the ipods and whatnots.....have come a long way baby

Thanx for adding some more names of the golden olddies..will look them up in the collection....

regards,

Worship

Following quote by BKB:
-----------------------------------------

I used to wear a T-shirt brandishing his kabuki face, lipstick and long hair and below it in multiclor writing it said:

"I f%@ked Boy George"

All the smart aleck chicks would ask " Is he/she pregnant? "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So does he/she bear your child? (ha,ha,ha!- that would be something!)

Quote below also from BKB referring to The Police
----------------------------------------------------

How can we forget them. They played in Mumbai, when they were hardly known entities in the early eighties.I missed them but my ex-girlfriend saw them and till date she talks about them. They rocked.

Sting played with Annie Lennox on Sunday here in TO. Did anybody see them?
--------------------------------------------------------------------

You made it with Boy George and infering from the post above you are still in touch with your ex-girlfriend, as you say she still talks about The Police, and you are married with children? You are one wild and virile 50 year old. Are you really 50 years old? I think I asked you this once before and you never answered. Ha, ha, ha caught you there. Wonder how your wife takes it with you still in touch with your ex-girlfriend.Does she know?

I am only joking BKB, don't mean to pry into your private life.

Have a great day! :)

Hi DD,
I did not make it with Boy George. It was just a T-shirt. I am sure you realise that. Just wanna pull muh leg right?

As regards my ex-girlfriend and my wife, they are one and the same. It was fashionable in 2000-2002 in certain segments of Mumbai society to introduce your spouse as your ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend as the case may be.I believe it continues to be the in thing. The logic behind it is that your current spouse was most likely your girlfriend or boyfriend before you got married. In that segment of society even if it was an arranged marriage, there was a short period of time between engagement and marriage and during that period you were boyfriend/girlfriend. Ok? I am sure I didn't need to go into all that logic for you , but what the heck, be like the Japanese, specify to the last detail.

I am nearing fifty, if not fifty as yet.

Take care and enjoy!
BKB

Hi MI and fellow CD friends,

Just thought that I'd let you know that this thread has received a thumbs up from many people at my office. They didn't realise that there was a cognoscenti among the desis that was so "hip".I mean you guys are really on the ball where western music is concerned.

I wish to commend worship and BKB for citing old time singers and music. This prompted some old timers in my office to bring music from the time of Frank Sinatra and Doris Day(I had never heard of her until your post BKB) and play it in the office yesterday. Some of the old guys and ladies even danced to the music. It was good fun. What with it being Friday.
I finally got to listen to "Que sera sera" and "Lipstick on your collar".

The office also started talking about the old TV serials you mentioned BKB, like Hopalong Cassidy and Sea Hunt. Where did you learn about them? They are 50's programs I am told. There was no TV then in India.
Did you just run off their names from the net?

Have a good weekend!
Desimisri
