I am using Reliance & its worth it for the following reason:
1. You dont get a line busy when you are desperate to talk to your loved ones in India
2. The rates are now 13.9 cents (no strings attached)
3. you dont lose money by talking for a few minutes
4. you dont lose money while teh phone is riniging or you get the message "cell is out of reach"
5. You can recharge it at any given time through the site itself.
I have been using calling card since almost a year & have the feel of almost all. started with a card for 4.50 for 3 minutes & now getting a card for 2.5 with 25 minutes to my city which is non-metro.
Of course I use a cmobination. I mean - for short calls I use reliance & long ones say on a weekedn I use the 10 $ card which I get for 5 $ and talk for about 50 minutes. The card is one of the best called five + five.
Scotia is provinding a compare & pay teh least service & for my city they were providing 39cents /minute (arghhh)
But reliance is a definitely yes according to me.!!!
With the new low rate of 13.9 cents plus top quality call clarity, Reliance India long distance service is the best option for calling back to India.

I just signed up few days back. Absolutely fantastic!!
So far, always got the line on the first attempt! Crystal clear sound too. And can't beat 13.9 cents.
Love it when you pay much less and get much more! I highly recommend it.

Are you there?
I came across an advertisement in a local punjabi paper that advertized UNLIMITED calling to India for just $30/month.
Anyone used it yet?
Hi Gapodi,
It would have been better had you provided complete details like the name of the advertiser or atleast the Punjabi paper and its date of publication.
Incomplete info is likely to bring no results to your query.
I hope you will agree.
Bye.

I think Gapodi is talking about Comwave.net offer. However, if you read the fine print the requirement is to have high-speed internet on both ends. which doesn't make any sense ...why would someone pay $30 when there are many free VOIP programs like Skype and you can talk unlimited.
It doesn't hurt to call that 1-800 number and confirm the details but I'm sure that nobody can give unlimited for $30 to call punjab as 50% of Indians in Canada are from punjab.
