Hi! Jwagh & Desi Babu
I am also from Pharma Industry, and kindly keep ur postings on this forum as it will help many prospective immigrants to be able to understand the ground situation better. I guess thiat is the beauty of this forum. Of course if u guys have some very specific (read personal ) topics to discuss then we are all with u. My suggestion is that if we keep this thread open on this forum may be many of us can pitch in.

Hi..
You probably are aware of most of these points, but here goes:
- Register your CV (make sure it is in the Canadian format) on sites such as monster.ca, workopolis.com, hotjobs.yahoo.ca, pharmahorizons.com, recruscience.com, http://www.bhrc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.lacostesearch.com" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.biopharma-montreal.com" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.biotech.ca." rel="nofollow">LINK
- Sign up for job alerts from these sites, these will give you an idea of what the companies look for.
- Explore the websites of both the generic and brand pharmaceutical companies to get their job openings and to have an idea of the industry here.
- Generic companies can be found at: http://www.cdma-acfpp.org/en/members.html.
- Brand companies can be found at: http://www.canadapharma.org/Members/
- If you see positions which you feel you would be a fit, send in your application.
- In case you know when you expect to land, put that in your cover letter.
In addition, there are books available at the HRDC centers which give you industry specific recruiters. You can have a look at these after you land.
All the best!
DB
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, on the forum and on my e mail. I will immediately visit these sites and get the info.
In the meantime I would also like to share with you the info which I found on the site www.bioontario.ca, that there were the following regions in Ontario having the biopharmaceutical clusters. These are
ottawa, Kingston, Guelph, Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton and London
Most of the companies however are situated in Missisauga and Toronto.
Now most of the posts on CD suggest that the new migrant population would like to settle in and around these two areas leading to paucity of jobs( even entry levels and odd jobs)
Is it possible to consider any other locations apart from Mississauga and Toronto according to you , to work in this field?
Quebec also has a fair share of pharma companies but is a dominant French speaking region( where Pharma personnel could be expected to communicate in French) o rwould English do?
Best Regards,
jwagh
