During the Last month I came to meet people who are direcly in IT (in very good positions). But Guess what none of them even bothered to be even remotely helpful. They did listen to my story and thats about it. I dont like to think they are unhelpful people But it did make me wonder.

I got more offers of help from some Folks here than these people I already knew directly or indirectly.

Only thing I can think of is

1) IT Industry is very very tight right now. People who have Jobs think and work to keep it that way and are not much bothered about others.

2) If they do help out it will be either with someone much closer or Someone Who can do something in return (now or in future).....

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

Yes Mercury6, You are right.

When i come here and searched for IT job, i contacted many IT people who has good job, but NO single IT man has helped me ! Not even helped me in Resume things. Just told me visit HRDC centre, its good and worthy ! Thats all.

They know the name of people and telephone number of agencies guys. Which one is good agencies etc. but never disclosed it.

I have not seen any post on this forum about contact person names and telephon numbers of agencies to whom they contacted.

Log apani sucess story paste kar dete hey lakin they hide the important "KEY factors", list of agencies and reason why he/she got this job?

One more thing, its really hard to find out a field job and its also true that its really hard to find out Good desi here!

Kap and Mercury,

What are the reasons, you believe or think, for IT desis being unhelpful? Put yourself in their shoes and then try to figure out what makes them tick and what doesn't?

I will give you my example of receiving PMs which may give you perspective on what makes me respond to PMs. I rarely respond to PMs received and the ones I responded to had one or more of these characteristocs:

1. PMs were specific - asking for specific info/help.

2. I believed that my input may help the person or I am in a position to help.

3. I got the impression that person has put significant effort already before asking me.

4. Person took sometime to share his thoughts and efforts and then asked for help.

5. Person is in such dire need they will not survive without my help.

The help can not be demanded, it has to be earned.
