I applied for The Rental Assistance Program in BC. I am PR here since few years and i my wife and children came here as PR 6 months back under Family Class Sponsorship. Today i got a letter from Rental Assistance Cordinator stating my application is rejected because
"You or a member of your family is currently in Canada under a private sponsorship and will not be eligible until the sponsorship ends"
What does it mean?

What a shame and this happening at a worst time in Canadian history, when we are facing COVID 19 virus infections.
When you entered into Canada, you might have given a Reference in that application that there is a RELATIVE here for you in Canada who will vouch for you.
I doubt it. But that is one way of delaying the subsidy or your entitlement to it. If nothing else works, use a PARALEGAL. It might cost you a few hundred bucks. But it will be well worth your troubles and expenses.

Appeal against it. See the free social workers or know better about it from the office
It looks like that they are saying that since you are a PR and you sponsered your wife /children, it means that you have to take care of them for 10 years (they will be ineligible to apply for welfare on their own).
Or it could be a mistake in your application. Get it verified.
Or it could be a 1 year residency requirement.
