Being in this profession for almost 25 years and within Toronto, let me give you an honest opinion.

1. PM's in IT are available by the dime and dozen. It will be tough (but not impossible) for you to get a job in the same field.
2. Last year Canada issued approx. 193K student visa's to Indians, guess what..more than 50% of them are in and round Toronto.
3. If you have contacts with other students ask them about the job situation...and get a true picture not a rosy one.
4. You'll be competing against locals who get an under graduate degree in Engineering or other IT related subjects (The degree in India - Bachelor of..., is referred to as under graduate here)
5. There is a housing crisis in TO, every single basement has be taken up by desi's. So finding accommodation is not easy. It may not apply in your case since you're targeting London, unfortunately I don't know the status of London housing.

As I said this is my honest opinion...I'm not discouraging you but giving you a true picture

Agreed about good colleges, but you cannot compare a college and University.

My view on what, if I may ask?

Like I said Canada issued 193K student visa's last year and the majority of them came to colleges..not universities.

I've personally see the students struggling (not all of them though), working under the table for less than minimum wage. Students who have completed courses similar to the one you're thinking of and working at a Subway Restaurant, Tim Hortons, McDonalds, as a security guard or driving trucks.

Having said that, OTOH I've also seen some very successful, landed getting a $70K job, and well settled.

So be prepared for the worst and any better you'll be laughing.

Aayush Patel

What is your education background in India ?
I am guessing you did your bachelors ( University degree)

College in Canada and courses like 30 wk diploma re like training certificates in India. Unless it is a 3 or 4 yr full time college degree or a 2 yr full time masters it is of not much use.

many students who finished their engineering come to conestoga or fanshwe or lambton college just for (mostly) getting out of india and into canada.
work in pizza, shawarma places from day 1 and try to work towards work permit.

if you want to come for education, if you already done your degree in INDIA, then come for Masters in any Canadian university. it will really help

If you are after the colleges, understand these are not universities. they are like polytechnic colleges in india where people go after their school

re accomodation in london , you can get 1 room for 500 - 600 dollars
or find desi students and share and apartment or a basement.
that is easy

indian groceries, indian restaurants, food, temples, people are plenty
